Being Liberal and a Progressive in a RED STATE is not an easy thing these days. I started this blog to vent my frustrations on our lives being taken over by right wing conservatives with their propaganda machines. I have also learned an important lesson in the last year, it is that reading is the only way to get real information, you cannot depend on the news you see on TV.

You dont want child molestors dead? you wanna have your car jacked and have a chance that the guy will get out on probation to come back and see you again? Same with rapists? You want to ever have a chance to see the guy who raped you free on the street? Maybe he can wave and smile and go "Hey sexy mamma!" What do you want, them to face the ineffective court system we have today, with the chance to be out in 6 months to face you again?? Get real, once again, you can NOT have it both ways!

Freethinker it will be funny when you are caught in the crossfire of some woman shooting a rapist, because I bet her aim will be really good. She will be just shooting, then you will get hit and then maybe in your mind you will think how stupid it is just to just shoot when you feel a threat among you.

This is not a freaking news web site, and it's not meant to be "fair and balanced". It's a blog at which one person publishes her OPINIONS. She doesn't have to publish all sides of an issue here - She's not an objective journalist and she's not pretending to be.

erinberry, very interesting couple of posts. No one implied this was supposed to be the news. However, it is VERY telling how you, supposed compassionate liberal that you are get all upset when someone dares to voice an opposing viewpoint. Hmmm.. lets see, "innocent until proven guilty" so you would rather lay there and watch someone breaking into your home, possibly with a weapon and gun in hand, let them do their thing, and hope the police can take care of it, and the courts will put them in prison, than to protect yourself, I suppose then that you wouldn't dare to fight a rapist, in case you may violate his "Rights"? I suppose Mace or pepper spray would fall into the same category as guns to your type. You sound a LOT like Howie who advocates the leaders of the US sitting down and negotiating with the Islamofascists, making American women wear Burkas, doing everything the Islamofascists want us to do, and calling it "passive resistance". Thinking like that was exactly what Europe was doing for Hitler, before Churchill woke up England and they started fighting for their lives. It's a tough world out there, cookie. Freedoms don't just HAPPEN, if you want to be protected, if you want to be safe, sometimes you have to take the fight to the aggressor! Where exactly in the Bill of Rights does it say that criminals, rapists et al have the Right to attack others? Where exactly in the Bill of Rights does it state that you, by protecting yourself are impeding THEIR rights by doing so? What a nutjob you are to use those particular arguments.

designer, totally inane argument. But thats to be expected from the scared of guns crowd. I guess you can run scared, or lay there and take it if you wish, me, for one, I would rather die fighting than to just give in. Have you ever noticed, in cities and states where "concealed gun permits" are allowed, the crime rates go down, in most cases dramatically? Hmmm... I wonder how this can be? Possibly because the perpetrators do not know WHO might be armed and they may possibly find themselves looking down the wrong end of a gun, as opposed to finding passivity? The stats are there, find them for yourselves. Try arming yourself with a little knowledge before spewing your inanities!

I already explained that just because I or any other liberal thinks you're completely full of crap, doesn't mean that we are not liberal or are trying to quash dissent. Being liberal doesn't mean you value every opinion equally, or give undue credit to utterly inane arguments like yours. I don't CARE that you have a different opinion than I do. The problem is that the level of intellect you display in your posts is at about the 6th grade level. You carry your so-called arguments to the point of the riduculous, lamely attempting to put words in people's mouths or suggesting actions that no one here is advocating.
If you have a problem with the concept of "innocent until proven guilty," I suggest you take it up with the Founding Fathers and pray to God that you never get wrongly accused of a crime. People ARE allowed to defend themselves. You are confused (as usual): Self defense is not REMOTELY the same thing as vigilante violence, which is what Nugent is advocating. If you have no respect for the due process of law, then you have a problem with the bedrock of America.
And I'm not your cookie, jackass. Do yourself and everyone else a favor and try to get an education.

Guess what, cookie, that DOES count in a court of law, HOWEVER (think you can understand that this means that I am pointing out a difference? Can you wrap your peabrain around that concept?) IF a person is attacking you, are you going to WAIT until they are arrested and tried? Someone doing the act, right then and there is caught RED HANDED, dumbass, and if they are threatening you, YOU have the right to PROTECT yourself. GET it, PEABRAIN? LIFE LIBERTY and the PURSUIT of Happiness, THAT is what the US constitution says. YOU CAN protect your life without impeding the "rights" of an attacker to attack you...
