Being Liberal and a Progressive in a RED STATE is not an easy thing these days. I started this blog to vent my frustrations on our lives being taken over by right wing conservatives with their propaganda machines. I have also learned an important lesson in the last year, it is that reading is the only way to get real information, you cannot depend on the news you see on TV.

Inching Toward Impeachment?

Although I cannot see this happening with republicans having the majority in Congress we are now hearing more and more voices on why Bush should be impeached:

Kerry To Push For Bush Impeachment:

John Kerry announced Thursday that he intends to present Congress with The Downing Street Memo, reported by the London Times 1 May 2005. As reported by NewsMax, the memo purports to include minutes from a July 2002 meeting with Tony Blair, in which Blair ostensibly said that President Bush’s Administration “fixed” intelligence on Iraq in order to justify the Iraqi war. In an interview with the Standard Times, Kerry said: "It's amazing to me the way it escaped major media discussion. It's not being missed on the Internet, I can tell you that."

The Boston Globe published an article by Ralph Nader, Tuesday, in which Nader also called for President Bush’s impeachment. The story is being carried on Michael Moore’s website and the Democratic Underground. Failed presidential candidate Kerry advised that he will begin the presentation of his case for President Bush’s impeachment to Congress, on Monday.

I agree with you in that nothing REAL will likely become of this, but for different reasons. In my opinion this “Downing Street Memo” story is being blown way out of proportion – another “vast right wing conspiracy” theory.

So every leader that agreed that Iraq was threat to the west (and to the U.S. in particular) did so because Bush deliberately set up some damning intelligence on Iraq, right?

This doesn’t hold water because Kerry, Gore, and Clinton have long viewed Iraq as a threat to the U.S.
A major case in point is Clinton’s own signed policy of regime change in Iraq in 1998. Now this is President Bill Clinton signing policy that it is in our country’s best interest that the U.S. see to a democratic Iraq. Now did Bush somehow, while Governor of Texas manage to feed Pres. Clinton manufactured intelligence?

you can look it up for yourself - "Iraq Liberation Act of 1998"

God bless you, keep bloggin', keep reading, and def keep looking for the truth ;)
