Being Liberal and a Progressive in a RED STATE is not an easy thing these days. I started this blog to vent my frustrations on our lives being taken over by right wing conservatives with their propaganda machines. I have also learned an important lesson in the last year, it is that reading is the only way to get real information, you cannot depend on the news you see on TV.

Bush Controlling the News - Florida Reporter Not Allowed to Report on SS Event

This administration actions just get more chilling by the day. A Florida newspaper wanting their reporter to go to a Social Security event to listen and talk to people there, was told he could come but not to report or talk to anyone:

White House efforts to control the news should worry everyone

The President of the United States is controlled by a group of handlers, and the people around him are very, very protective. One has to wonder if they are more afraid of terrorists, Democrats or the press.

If his recent tour to promote his Social Security plan is any example, President Bush's crew is petrified of the news media. They don't want us around him, and they don't want us to even talk to people gathered for such invitation-only, made-for-a-sound-bite events.
