Gavin Newsom for President
I really like this guy. He is a true blue Democrat and says what he feels and stand up for what is right:
Stop lying to the American people. Newsom claims, based on first hand knowledge, that the “vast majority” of congressional Dems favor gay marriage, but they lack the “moral courage” to say so.
“As long as we allow this to be dangled in front of us because of our unwillingness to say publicly what so many of us are saying privately,” Newsom told me, “it will haunt the Democratic party.”

If the democrats in congress would say what they are thinking there wouldn't be any democrats in congress. In the case of gay marriages, most people do not want gay marriages, so they wouldn't vote for democrats that want gay marriages. This is a democracy. The people vote for representatives that have the same beliefs as the voters. These democratic congressmen might have more receptive voters in France or somewhere like that. I think they missed their chance in Canada.
