Being Liberal and a Progressive in a RED STATE is not an easy thing these days. I started this blog to vent my frustrations on our lives being taken over by right wing conservatives with their propaganda machines. I have also learned an important lesson in the last year, it is that reading is the only way to get real information, you cannot depend on the news you see on TV.

The IQ it Takes to Vote for a Bush

A man enters a bar and orders a drink. The bar has a robot bartender.

The robot serves him a perfectly prepared cocktail, and then asks him, "What's your IQ?"

The man replies "150" and the robot proceeds to make conversation about global warming factors, quantum physics and spirituality, biomimicry, environmental interconnectedness, string theory, nanotechnology, and sexual proclivities.

The customer is very impressed and thinks, "This is really cool." He decides to test the robot. He walks out of the bar, turns around, and comes back in for another drink. Again, the robot serves him the perfectly prepared drink and asks him, "What's your IQ?"

The man responds, "about a 100.

" Immediately the robot starts talking, but this time, about football,NASCAR, baseball, supermodels, favorite fast foods, guns, and women's breasts.

Really impressed, the man leaves the bar and decides to give the robot one more test. He heads out and returns, the robot serves him and asks, "What's your IQ?"

The man replies, "Er, 50, I think."

And the robot says... real slowly, "So............. ya gonna vote for Bush again?"

One Person, One Vote, One Democracy, WHAT A JOKE!

On Call Assignment Desk time.

Within the past few weeks:

1. The election supervisor for the county encompassing Tallahassee, FL saw voting results hacked before his eyes. He decertified Diebold. Jeb Bush noticed and wants a full review of Florida's voting machines.

2. Diebold chief Wally O'Dell -- he of "deliver the election" to Bush fame -- resigns.

3. CA refuses to certify Deibold yet, reversing a reversal.

4. St. Louis Co., MO decertifies Diebold machines.

5. North Carolina is apparently about to do the same.

George Bush Compassionate Conservative

What a bunch of bullcrap, Dubya is a whore for wealth, big money and big business:

President Bush on Monday renewed his demand that Congress extend tax cuts on investment dividends and capital gains, saying they are vital to keeping the nation's economy growing.

House leaders will try again for a vote Thursday, but moderate Republicans in the House have expressed deep misgivings about approving a measure so beneficial to affluent investors so soon after they approved a budget-cutting bill that would cut people off food stamps, squeeze student lenders, impose new fees on Medicaid recipients and slash federal aid for child-support enforcement.

"Obviously, the juxtaposition of cutting taxes and food stamps within a few days is not attractive," said Rep. James T. Walsh (R-N.Y.).

Fox News Kills Christmas!!

With their rant that has been going on for about a week about how America is waging a war on Christmas by O'reilly, Hannity and others I though this was really funny:

from Majority Report

In case you missed it Friday night, a listener called The Majority Report from within the Fox News building to inform us that he was holding an invitation to the News Corp. Holiday Party. We were shocked. Finally some good news: we're winning the War on Christmas.

No Kidding

Three in five Americans want the next U.S. president to be completely different from incumbent George W. Bush, according to a poll by Time magazine.

Americans Want Different Type of President Next Time, Poll Says

This is GOOD NEWS!

.....Behind the headlines, however, intelligent design as a field of inquiry is failing to gain the traction its supporters had hoped for. It has gained little support among the academics who should have been its natural allies. And if the intelligent design proponents lose the case in Dover, there could be serious consequences for the movement's credibility.

On college campuses, the movement's theorists are academic pariahs, publicly denounced by their own colleagues. Design proponents have published few papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals.....

The unprecedented number of troops who are returning from Iraq with missing limbs has given the US Paralympic Team an unexpected recruitment boost and the chance to become “unbeatable” at the next Games in Beijing in 2008. More than 60 potential recruits have already been identified in sports as varied as powerlifting, archery and table tennis.
